Position: Head Girls Basketball CoachLocation: North High School - North St. Paul, MNSeason: November 2026 to March 2027Compensation: Per the NSPM contract 2026-27 school yearPosition OverviewNorth High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead our program with an education-based and transformational coaching philosophy. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive team culture that promotes growth, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the court.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead, organize, and oversee all aspects of the Girls Basketball program, including practices, games, and team-building activities.Promote a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all student-athletes.Communicate effectively with players, parents/guardians, assistant coaches, the Activities Office, and school administration.Model integrity, accountability, and professionalism consistent with the mission and values of North High School.Ensure compliance with all Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules, regulations, and eligibility standards.Required QualificationsExperience in girls' basketball, either as a competitive player or coach.Demonstrated experience working with high schoolaged students.Availability for after-school practices, weekday games, and occasional Saturday events.Knowledge of MSHSL policies, basketball strategy, skill development, and training techniques.Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPrevious high school coaching experience.Competitive playing experience at the high school and/or collegiate level.Application & Contact InformationInterested candidates should contact Activities Director, Jed Helwig, at jhelwig2@isd622.orgIndependent School District No. 622 North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale, does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity.ISD 622 is an equal opportunity employer and supports an inclusive workplace environment.
