Opportunity: RN - Neuro PCU Job Details: • Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision • Work on a Stroke and Neuro floor that also treats orthopedic and spine patients • Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred • Must be willing to precept and possibly work in virtual room settings • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed • Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning • Make referrals to appropriate personnel for patient care needs • Delegate tasks to support staff • Required: 1 year of nursing experience • Required certifications: Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC), Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association • Required education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program • Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher • Strong verbal and written communication skills required • Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients Facility: This comprehensive medical center serves as a major academic healthcare institution providing advanced medical care across multiple specialties.
