Job Title: Lead, Systems Engineering – Software Engineering Job Code: 12426 Job Location: Greenville, Texas – (Responsibilities must be performed on-site) Job Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule – (Every other Friday is a non-workday) Job Description: This experienced lead engineer will work within an Integrated Product Team responsible for the development of specialized signal processing systems for a diverse customer base. This team, comprised of engineers from many disciplines, works closely with customers to gain insight into real-world needs, priorities, and obtains operational feedback to provide the best system solutions for our users. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and software engineering skills to achieve solutions for various projects/programs. This position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills who can transition into a leadership role with system experience. Additionally, opportunities exist for travel if desired. Essential Functions: Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code using object-oriented software design principles. Investigate and resolve defects. Work closely with team members to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, as well as operational performance requirements. Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application. Assist with strategic architectural decisions. Research new software concepts. Collaborate with customers and team members to develop system requirements. Respond to customer inquiries providing troubleshooting and analysis of complex problems. Prepare documentation. Assist with preparation of bids and estimates for new software capabilities. Provide leadership for programs and products. Create and maintain strong working relationships within the company and with onsite and offsite customers. Mentor junior engineers. Job Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (SCI) clearance with the ability to maintain which requires U.S. Citizenship. Must have experience working in both a system engineering and software development role. Preferred Additional Skills: Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a team environment or on independent assignments. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong Java and/or C/C++ programming skills Good working knowledge of the Linux Operating System Network socket programming. Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code. Ability to ensure designs are in compliance with specifications. Ability to prepare and produce releases of software components. Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework. Data communications experience with modern protocols and formats Software architectural expertise (e.g., service-oriented architectures & micro-services) Virtualization as well as containerization technologies like Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes Experience with databases and SQL. Experience with parallel and multi-threaded programing. Rocky/Red Hat Linux Image Customization & Kickstart Scripting Shell scripting experience Project, Build, Package Management experience Software Defined Radio experience Ability to learn new concepts quickly and rapidly prototype. Willing to travel CONUS/OCONUS occasionally. CI polygraph (or willingness to take one)
