Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Rover Utility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout assigned facilities by moving (“roving”) between designated areas as needed. This role supports day-to-day operations by responding to cleaning needs, special requests, and high-traffic areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients.Pay: $20.00 an hourThe pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. ABM is a military and veteran friendly employer, veterans and candidates with military experience encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and non-routine cleaning tasks across multiple areas or buildingsClean restrooms, offices, common areas, break rooms, hallways, and entrywaysEmpty trash, recycle materials, and replace linersSweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors as neededPerform basic floor care tasks, including buffing, polishing, and maintaining various floor typesAssist with deep floor cleaning projects as assigned (scrubbing, stripping, waxing preferred)Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and sanitizerRespond promptly to spills, accidents, or urgent cleaning requestsDisinfect high-touch surfaces following safety and sanitation guidelinesOperate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properlyReport maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisorsFollow all company policies, safety procedures, and cleaning protocolsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrior janitorial or custodial experience requiredWorking knowledge of floor care procedures, including buffing and polishingExperience using floor care equipment (e.g., buffers, auto-scrubbers) is a plusAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyBasic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipmentStrong attention to detail and reliabilityAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks throughout shiftComfortable working on feet for extended periodsWork EnvironmentCommercial or institutional facilitiesFast-paced and changing cleaning needsExposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)ScheduleFlexible schedule, may include evenings, weekends, or holidaysRoving assignments may change based on operational needsSkills & CompetenciesDependability and strong work ethicCustomer service–focused mindsetGood communication skillsAbility to adapt to changing prioritiesAbout UsABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world’s largest providers of integrated facility, engineering, and infrastructure solutions.
