SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Developer III - API Web Services for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications within a multi-platform environment, with a strong emphasis on API-driven integration and systems interoperability. The role involves working across distributed, mainframe, and cloud-enabled systems to deliver scalable solutions, resolve production issues, and ensure seamless system integration across business-critical platforms.Required Qualifications of the Developer III - API Web Services:Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; OR 4+ years of relevant professional experience; OR Associate’s degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience4+ years of experience in application development, systems testing, or related technical rolesStrong understanding of application development lifecycle, QA practices, and integration methodologies across mainframe, midrange, and/or distributed environmentsSolid knowledge of enterprise integration principles and API-based architecturesExperience analyzing system dependencies and assessing impact of application changes across environmentsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact across technical and business teamsAbility to work in fast-paced environments, manage priorities, and perform under pressureStrong attention to detail with ability to document, design, and support technical solutions effectivelyExperience collaborating in team environments while also working independently when requiredPreferred Skills/Experience of the Developer III - API Web Services:Experience developing APIs and web services using Java or JavaScriptExperience with REST and SOAP-based service architecturesKnowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth and mTLSExperience with GraphQL is a plusHands-on experience with API management platforms such as IBM DataPower, IBM API Connect, Kong, or AWS API GatewayExperience with Red Hat OpenShift and containerized environmentsExperience with IBM WebSphere Application ServerExperience with Node.js developmentFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory)Experience with integration, messaging, and testing tools such as IBM MQ, IBM WTX/ITX, and ReadyAPIFamiliarity with OpenAPI/Swagger standards and API documentation practicesExperience with monitoring and analytics tools such as Splunk and databases such as MongoDBUnderstanding of mainframe integration concepts including XML and copybook transformationsResponsibilities of the Developer III - API Web Services:Perform end-to-end application systems analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance activitiesTranslate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implement scalable application solutionsDesign, develop, debug, test, and document complex applications and system integrationsSupport API development, integration services, and service orchestration across enterprise platformsAnalyze system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements or fixesCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery of solutions aligned with business and technical requirementsWork Location: Hybrid role based in Columbia, South Carolina, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday and as needed.Compensation / Benefits: Full-Time Employment with SYSTEMTEC means competitive compensation, access to health, dental, disability, and life coverage, and 401(k) with match.***Please note: SYSTEMTEC is not set up to employ workers in the states of California, New York, and New Jersey.***
