Skilled Nursing Facility Speech & Language Pathology Assistant - Fredericksburg, Virginia

A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Fredericksburg, VA. This full-time, contract role supports students with speech-language disorders in an educational setting, working closely under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The position requires in-person work with students from PreK through 12th grade across multiple itinerant locations, Monday through Friday.Key Responsibilities:Implement intervention programs designed by the supervising SLP to improve students' speech skills.Assist in administering and scoring assessments and progress monitoring tools.Collect case histories and complete observations to support evaluation processes.Collaborate with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to share student progress and provide recommendations.Attend meetings such as IEP conferences and parent sessions to communicate student goals.Prepare documentation including evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports.Transport students to testing or therapy sessions as needed.Desired Experience and Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders.Prior experience as a paraprofessional or within a school environment preferred.Training or experience in language and articulation therapy is a strong advantage.Excellent communication skills, including active listening and collaborative interaction.Positive attitude with willingness to learn and apply new therapeutic strategies.Location and Schedule:Fredericksburg, VA, itinerant (various sites tied to student needs).Monday through Friday, full-time (40 hours per week).Contract dates: August 13th through May 21st.Benefits and Perks:Starting pay at $33 per hour, depending on credentials.Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).Travel stipends for eligible candidates.Guaranteed hours for both direct and indirect services.
