Design and Solution Specialist

The Design and Solution Specialist is responsible for running daily appointments on Company-provided Qualified Sales Leads, presenting quality solutions for the Customer's needs, writing and presenting proposals onsite with the customer at the appointment, closing sales for the company, and is customarily and regularly engaged at the Customers’ building or jobsite away from the Company’s place of business. This position is exempt under the FLSA and reports to the Design and Solution Manager. Essential Job Functions Drives to Customers’ homes on pre-scheduled appointments. Builds professional rapport with Customers & determines their desired outcome(s). Carefully examines the Customer’s home to gather necessary data to provide an accurate diagnosis of the Customers’ issues. Provides a Quality Solution and any necessary recommendations to the Customer that will resolve such issues. Write proposals onsite, including a reference drawing of proposed work with pertinent notes, then presents that proposal to the Customer while at the appointment. Completes the sale through Customer counseling. Enthusiastically follow-up with the Customer, as needed. Possesses clear communication skills, both verbally and written, with Customers and other office departments. Meets or exceeds his/her projected monthly Average Dollar Per Lead goal, and Annual Sales goal. Experience and Ability to self-generate leads is a plus. Compensation Salary plus commission with OTE of $75,000-$100,000+/yr Health, Dental, Vision insurance (50% of premium paid by employer) PTO - 2 weeks in the first year, and increases yearly. Monthly Stipend if personal vehicle is used for running appointments. Fleet fuel card for fuel used for miles driven to and from sales appointments. Training & Development Paid Training in product overview, accurate diagnosis, Training Videos, Classes and Workshops, and Salesforce CRM navigation training. Attend the weekly sales meeting and other required meetings. Participates in ride-along shadowing with the Sales Manager and peers. Invest in their own sales knowledge by remaining curious and teachable. Practices the sales process and follows it every time. Position Requirements Knowledge of sales, marketing, and/or customer service principles and practices are a plus. Knowledge of construction principles and practices preferred. Skill in operating a personal computer and software programs (i.e. Microsoft 365, Drawing software, etc...). Ability to detect/recognize information in written materials or on a computer/tablet/phone screen up to 75% of the time. Ability to read and write in English, including strong presentation skills. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, 1+ years of successful experience in sales preferred OR a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field. Ability to exert up to 40 lb. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Ability to physically move about, move to/from and work from the floor level or in crawl spaces beneath homes. A valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, reliable transportation to and from the office, current vehicle insurance coverage, and the ability to drive for the company. U.S. Citizenship or proper documentation of the legal qualifications to work in the United States. Ability to pass an FBI background check to secure and maintain a California Contractors State License Board registration as a Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS), see cslb.ca.gov for further information about registration process.
