Steel Shelving Installer * Position Requires Some Travel
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, RetirementJOB DESCRIPTION - INSTALLER - INSTPosition Summary:The Installer will interact directly with the Foreman, Field Superintendent, Project Manager, coworkers, and the client on unique projects to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and timeline. The Installer is responsible for executing a variety of general labor and specific trade work tasks including repetitious assembly and building activities, specific technical applications, and general supervision of temporary workers. Installers may be deployed to a variety of scopes of work including but not limited to robotics installations, shelving/racking/mezzanine/caster deck/guardrail/safety barrier/modular office assembly and installations, and be required to conduct activities such as staging, operational set up, floor engineering, hand and power tool operation, low voltage work, cable management, installing computer components and peripherals, inventory management, 5S taping, anchoring, and fabricating to ensure the successful execution of the project and customer satisfaction. Strong work ethic, positive attitude and promptness are key attributes of a successful Installer. The Installer's job also includes ensuring that work process and quality supports the company's overall strategy and goals.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Primary Duties:Operating material handling equipment including forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack and floor cleanerUtilize and be responsible for equipment, tools, assets, and supplies to support execution of assignmentBe responsible for inventorying and staging, using effective space management as required by assignmentSetup and/or use software and hardware as required by assignmentPerform fastening and anchoring to various surfaces and substrates to meet project specifications and requirementsTake and/or apply accurate measurementsPerform volume installation and assembly of shelves, racks, conveyors, mezzanines, safety barriers, guard rails, caster decking and other various types of material handling systemsPerform component assembly accurately and efficiently per specificationsApply 5S tape, stickers, and labels per assignment specifications and needsPerform other duties as assignedResponsibilities:Follow and promote all company safety policies and proceduresCommunicate effectively with all organizational levels and external business partnersConsistent daily communication with project management regarding all aspects within assigned scopeMaintain clean work and storage areasRegularly work towards task and skill improvementProtect entrepreneurial information and workplace confidentialityDemonstrate a high level of professionalismProduce high quality level of workAttend daily stand-up/PTSA meetings and implement actions as directed (lead meeting as required)Be aware of project timeline requirements and work diligently towards meeting themConduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections as required per assignmentProperly document and communicate blockers, issues, and anomaliesImmediately report all client interactions to supervisorBe responsible for timely, accurate, and efficient time keepingResponsible for caring for and maintaining lodging facilities associated with deploymentAttend all required internal and external business meetings and trainingConsistently positively represent Culver through behavior, performance, and communicationSelf-manage and self-report as situationally requiredPerform side responsibilities as needed and requested by supervisorMinimum Required Qualification:Must be a minimum of 18 years oldMust have experience or competency of basic construction and assembly and associated tools and techniquesMust have knowledge of hardware, low voltage wiring and mechanical components (as required for specific scopes)Must have valid I.D. permitting travelMust have valid driver's license when assigned to positions requiring drivingMust have and be able to use personal communication device for business communication responsibilitiesPossess DOT card or the ability to obtain one when assigned to positions requiring DOT certificationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn and use basic computer software applicationsAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and proceduresExercise good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamAbility to remain composed and professional during stressful situationsWillingness to work in a variety of inclement and construction environmentsVersatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levelsLegally authorized to work in the United StatesRequired Education:High School Diploma or GED (additional education may be required for specific scopes)1-year related experience preferredPhysical demands & work environment:Frequent standing and walkingConsistent use of hands and the ability to reach with armsConsistent use of fine motor skills using fingers to handle or feelOccasionally required to sitRequired to be able to speak clearly and hearOccasionally work at heights up to 40'Repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects up to 50 poundsAbility to squat, bend and kneel as a repetitive job actionAbility to work in adverse temperature conditions (hot and cold)Ability to work in construction environmentsAbility to work 12+ hour shiftsPosition Type/Expected Work Hours:This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are ultimately dictated per project. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary.Travel:Most assignments require full time travel with deployment lengths up to 16-20 weeks at a time.
