This role is ideal for candidates with strong Python programming skills, a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics, and experience working with scientific datasets in research or engineering environments.The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data analysis pipelines, custom scripts, and visualization tools that enable deeper insights into complex measurement systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Python-based data analysis tools, scripts, and Jupyter notebooksDesign and implement algorithms for processing and interpreting scientific measurement dataCreate scalable workflows for data cleaning, transformation, and analysisBuild high-quality data visualizations for scientific and engineering interpretationSupport the development and execution of Picarro custom analysis frameworks and toolsCollaborate with engineering teams to integrate data insights into system developmentPerform statistical analysis and mathematical modeling of experimental datasetsContribute to algorithm validation, benchmarking, and performance optimizationWork within Agile development processes and version-controlled environmentsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fieldStrong proficiency in Python for data analysis and algorithm developmentHands-on experience with Jupyter notebooks and Python scriptingExperience with scientific Python libraries:NumPySciPyPandasMatplotlibStrong foundation in mathematics and statisticsExperience in data analysis, modeling, and visualizationTechnical SkillsAdvanced Python programming for scientific and analytical applicationsAbility to develop reproducible data pipelines and analysis workflowsStrong understanding of data structures and numerical methodsExperience with scientific plotting and data visualization techniquesFamiliarity with software development tools and practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience with Git and collaborative software development workflowsExposure to Agile development methodologiesExperience developing reusable analysis frameworks or scientific toolsMS or PhD in a relevant technical or scientific disciplineExperience working with instrumentation data or physical measurement systemsStrong problem-solving and algorithm development skillsThe base salary range for this full-time position is $120K to $130K. Our total compensation packages include base salary, bonus eligibility, and equity.
