Job Summary:The Winder role is a heavy assembly position that focuses on the assembly of coil windings, a vital internal sub-component of our transformers. In this position, operators would train to set up, wind, and complete Medium Power, Large Power, and Extra High Voltage coils. Winding types include horizontally and vertically wound Disc coils 1-2 wire and/or multi wire configurations, Screw coils single and multithread configurations, and or Regulatory Voltage coils in single layer or double configurations. Operators will learn to bend/manipulate copper conductor leads, induction braze joinery, and insulating per procedure. Operators will learn to operate both horizontal and vertical type winding machines, load cylinders to mandrels, pull conductor from de-reelers. Coil Winders will be expected to follow trained procedures, using print drawings and bills of materials, winding sheets, small hand tools, calibrated equipment, pneumatic tooling, and required components to complete a winding from start to finish. These operations and procedures will involve both single and team movements like bending, twisting, kneeling, and utilizing overhead cranes, forklifts, or other powered industrial vehicles. Operators will be expected to train, sustain, and demonstrate continued proficiency in their technical skills; including further development in additional levels all to the highest levels of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism – all with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
