Staff Accountant – BESS Infrastructure PlatformA rapidly growing private equity–backed energy infrastructure platform is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team in Houston, TX.The company develops, owns, and operates utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the U.S. and is backed by a leading infrastructure investor. With projects currently operating, in construction, and in development, the platform is targeting multiple gigawatts of storage capacity in the coming years.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the month-end close process across multiple entities, including preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and filing supportReview and approve expenses through the company's procure-to-pay system, ensuring proper coding and resolving discrepanciesAssist in preparing construction draws and resolving any errors from the prior closeHelp produce financial statements and budget-to-actuals reportsSupport project-level accounting across development, construction, and operating assetsCoordinate data for external auditors and tax advisors as neededQualifications1 to 3+ years of accounting experienceBackground in public audit or hands-on industry accounting; oil and gas, real estate, construction, and infrastructure are all relevantComfortable doing detailed, transactional work in a fast-moving environmentStrong attention to detail with an analytical mindsetBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMust be based in Houston; position is fully in-officeWhy This RoleJoin a high-growth battery storage platform at an early stage and help build the accounting function from the ground upGain broad exposure to project finance, asset management, and the full lifecycle of energy storage developmentWork closely with experienced leadership in a lean, collaborative teamEquity participation from day oneClear path to grow as the platform scales
