General Manager
Friedman’s is seeking a General Manager to succeed a successful General Manager who has been promoted to open a new restaurant. This General manager will lead ongoing operations of our Upper West Side location, right next to Central Park. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for continuing to build and managing an already high-performing team, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving strong financial results in a fast-paced, all-day dining environment. The General Manager will serve as the face of the restaurant. It a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the overall performance of the restaurant. The ideal candidate is a strong operator, culture builder, and team developer who thrives in a busy environment and leads from the front. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Own day-to-day operations across breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner Drive consistency in food quality, service, and execution across all dayparts Maintain strong systems around:Service flow and timing Cleanliness and organization Opening/closing discipline Financial Performance Full accountability for P&L performance Manage:Labor cost and scheduling efficiency Cost of goods, ordering, and inventory controls Identify and drive revenue opportunities through:Throughput optimization Local store marketing and repeat guest strategy Private events and neighborhood partnerships Team Leadership & Culture Continue to hire, train, and develop a team of managers and hourly staff Build a culture of accountability, hospitality, and consistency Be a present, floor-driven leader, coaching in real time Create structure, clarity, and growth paths to drive retention Guest Experience Set the tone for warm, approachable, New York hospitality Actively manage the dining room and guest flow Resolve issues quickly and with good judgment Continue to build on a strong base of repeat guests and neighborhood regulars Systems & Compliance Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and food safety standards Maintain and enforce all company systems, including:POS and reporting Inventory and ordering Opening/closing procedures Qualifications Required 3–5+ years of experience as a General Manager in a high-volume, full-service restaurant Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and hold teams accountable Deep understanding of restaurant financials (labor, COGS, margins) Exceptional guest service instincts Organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment A team builder who develops people and creates culture Hands-on, floor-oriented leadership style Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + performance bonus Health benefits Paid time off Growth opportunities within a growing NYC restaurant group More detail about Friedmans - 72nd Street part of Friedmans Restaurant Group, please visit
