Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled light or heavy duty mechanic to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across various sectors including construction, agriculture, and transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, and utilize advanced diagnostic tools.
Duties
Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment, passenger vehicles, and farm machinery using schematics and electronic testing tools.
Conduct repairs on gas & diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and HVAC systems to restore optimal performance.
Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
Maintain and service vehicles including tractor-trailers and automotive repair tasks like tire service, wheel alignment, and brake repair.
Assemble new equipment or components following technical manuals and schematics; troubleshoot electrical systems with electrical experience.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid replacements, filter changes, and general vehicle upkeep to prevent future issues.
Skills
Proven mechanic experience preferred; strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment operation.
Expertise in fabricating parts using welding and soldering techniques; familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, alignment tools, hydraulic testers, and diagnostic software.
Solid understanding of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, diesel engines, shocks & struts.
Ability to perform tire service and wheel alignments accurately; experience in equipment repair and assembly is highly valued.
Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
