Senior Systems Engineer

This is a high-impact opportunity to work on complex, real-world space hardware in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.If you enjoy solving challenging thermal problems and working across multidisciplinary teams—from design through testing—this could be a great fit.What You’ll Be DoingSupport the Thermal IPT Lead in defining and managing thermal subsystem requirements (allocation, traceability, and verification)Develop and maintain interface definitions (ICDs) across systems such as structures, avionics, propulsion, and powerPartner with thermal analysis, mechanical design, and systems teams to drive design closure and ensure complianceContribute to verification & validation (V&V) planning, including test methods and success criteriaLead or support thermal testing activities (component, subsystem, and full vehicle), including TVAC campaignsSupport integration & test (I&T), including instrumentation planning and data reviewOwn and maintain key engineering documentation (ICDs, test plans, procedures, verification matrices)Work closely with vendors and support procurement and hardware buildsParticipate in design reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR) and communicate risks, gaps, and technical updatesWhat We’re Looking ForMust-Have:5–10 years of experience in spacecraft or aerospace thermal systemsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fieldStrong experience with requirements development, flowdown, traceability, and verification (Jama or similar tools)Experience defining/managing system interfaces (ICDs)Hands-on experience supporting or executing thermal test campaignsWorking knowledge of thermal control hardware (MLI, heaters, radiators, coatings, heat pipes, fluid loops)Solid understanding of space thermal environments and heat transferAbility to work independently and drive initiatives forwardStrong organizational and communication skillsU.S. Person (due to program requirements)Nice to Have:Experience with Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, or similar toolsBackground working in startup or rapid development environmentsFamiliarity with NASA or DoD standards (e.g., GEVS, MIL-STD)Experience tailoring verification approaches based on riskThermal test instrumentation and data analysis experienceExposure to hardware/software integrationExperience with configuration management and change controlWhat’s OfferedCompetitive compensation based on experience and scopeComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (employer-supported)3 weeks of PTO + 11 paid holidays401(k) with company matchParental leaveEducation reimbursement and ongoing learning support
