Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for performing installations, maintenance and repairs (motors, starters, fuses, electrical power to machine etc.) for industrial equipment and machines in order to support the achievement of Nelson Miller Group’s business goals and objectives.
Perform installations, maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of industrial equipment and machines including, but not limited to screen printers, punch presses, steel rule die presses, automated presses, turret presses, CNC mills and laser cutting machines.
Diagnose problems through the disciplined use of gauges, meters, schematics, drawings and equipment reports / codes.
Replace, update and/or upgrade older equipment or outdated control systems that operate equipment.
Prioritize and coordinate work activities with production teams to restore work centers that are down.
Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, code, diagrams and testing in performing duties.
Follow all projects through, from start to finish, while maintaining safe maintenance principles.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Forklift operation.
Other duties and responsibilities assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An AAS degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or an equivalent in education and years of experience required.
Previous electrical and mechanical background required – hands-on experience in schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, servo motors, sensors and lubrication systems.
SKILLS:
Strong mechanical aptitude – diagnose, disassemble and reassemble mechanical assemblies.
Time Management – prioritize activities while remaining flexible in a dynamic environment.
Problem solving aptitude and discipline in accurately defining, analyzing, breaking down, and solving complex problems.
Strong math skills needed – schematic interpretation and system design.
Strong computer skills – used in machine PLC programming, researching and maintenance record keeping.
Typical business written skills with significant abilities in generating technical notes.
Effective verbal communication skills – listening skills are critical in gathering information from production team members regarding equipment needs and issues.
Flexibility to meet changing requirements under challenging conditions.
Ability to work independently.

WORK CONTEXT:
Exposure to contaminants with inks and chemicals.
Personal Protective Equipment includes safety glasses, gloves, lab jackets, hearing protection, steel toed boots, and as necessary, hard hats.
Loud noise levels and exposure to hot and cold temperatures may be experienced; work is often in climate-controlled building spaces.
Outdoor work activities and weather exposure; including snow removal and roof work.
The majority of position is standing.
Time Pressure.
Importance of being exact or accurate.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of product.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
