Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Crew ChiefDepartment: SurveyEmployment Status: Full-TimePosition Type: Non-ExemptLevel: ITravel Required: YesPosition SummaryThe Senior Crew Chief is responsible for staking well locations, surveying and establishing section corners, and staking access roads, including slope staking for access roads and well location pads. This role provides daily oversight of assigned Survey Assistants and ensures all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards.Safe workplace practices are expected and are the responsibility of every employee.Reporting StructureSupervisory Responsibility: NoneReports To: Project Manager, Area Manager, or Regional ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesStake pipelines and pipeline right-of-waysPrepare topographic surveys and cross-sectioningPerform mathematical calculations, field checks, and manage field dataTake accurate and clear field notes and perform note reductionRead and interpret plans and specificationsPerform quality control on all workMaintain company equipment and company vehiclesAccurately complete time and expense reportingMeet with clients and public landowners as a company representativePerform other related duties as assignedEducation, Skills & QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBackground in math, geometry, and trigonometry requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in a Level II Crew Chief positionKnowledgeStrong knowledge of the Oil & Gas surveying industryExpert understanding of sources of measurement errorsAdvanced knowledge of monumentation, staking, and marking principlesSkills & AbilitiesProficient math and computer skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsProfessional, proactive, and positive attitudeAdaptable and flexible in changing environmentsDetail-oriented with sound judgmentAbility to work effectively as a team contributorLicensing RequirementsValid driver's license requiredMotor Vehicle Report (MVR) must meet company requirements throughout employmentPhysical & Additional RequirementsAbility to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 75 lbsAbility to walk for extended periods and operate ATVs across various terrainsMust be dependable, organized, and safety-consciousStrong documentation and inventory control skillsSelf-driven with the ability to work independentlyMust participate in the company drug and alcohol compliance programFlexible and adaptable to changeWorking Conditions
