The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:Ensure all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and metInstall pipes and different pipe componentsAssemble, test and install pipe packagesPipe weldingManufacture and install foundationsAssemble, test and install different skidsInstall fittings and equipmentPipelines manufacture and maintenanceWeld flanges, collars, penetrations, skid frames, foundations, some pipesAssemble, connect and test pipe lines between skids and equipment to functional systemsPerform manufacturing of fitting pipe modelsInstall and align ship machinery, propulsion deck, and steering using precision measurement toolsPerform as an outside machinistUse resinsRead and interpret installation drawingsTake care of cleaning and arrangement of work spaceParticipate in developing working methods and in preparing investmentsSecure competency of his/her workResponsible for carrying out indicated tasks according to the Shipyards general rules and specified working instructionsPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.COMPETENCIESSelf-managementThoroughnessFlexibilityIntegrityWillingness and ability to work as a team memberSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTYThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.WORK ENVIRONMENTEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School or Vocational School3 or more years professional experience in:Shipyards with shipbuilding production and/or ship repairShip machinery installationPipe fitting/plumbingSteel fabricationWelding certification required in FCAW, GTAW, SMAC and SMAWAdditional welding certifications per vessel type and classification requirementsBasic knowledge of machine mountingUnderstanding of blue prints, 3D-isometrics, schemes and technical documentsKnowledge of different materials like steel, stainless steel, CuNiFe, etc.Knowledge of different components as valves, flanges, machine components, etc.Skilled to utilize typical pipefitting, machine fitting, and welding tools and equipmentKnowledge of work safetyCreativeness and initiative attitude in workOTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
