OverviewAccount Manager – Employee BenefitsLocation - Hybrid in Grand Rapids, MIAlera Group is seeking an Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits team. This role is ideal for a client-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys managing relationships, supporting renewal strategy, and delivering exceptional service to clients.As a key member of the client team, you will partner closely with Account Executives and Team Leads to support both new and existing business while helping clients navigate their employee benefits programs with confidence.About Alera GroupFounded in 2017, Alera Group has grown to become the 14th largest broker of U.S. business. ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do / Your ImpactManage renewal and proposal processes for assigned clientsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and underwritersNegotiate with carriers and service providers on behalf of clientsGather and prepare renewal data, applications, and supporting documentationPrepare materials for and participate in client meetings and presentationsConduct open enrollment meetings and employee education sessions as neededAssist clients with claims reporting, follow-up, and resolution supportReview insurance policies, coverage details, and client exposuresHandle day-to-day client service requests with accuracy and responsivenessUtilize internal systems including BenefitPoint and Employee Navigator to maintain client records and workflowsIdentify opportunities for cross-selling and additional client support servicesAssist in onboarding and training entry-level team membersStay current on industry trends, carrier updates, and employee benefits best practicesQualificationsWhat You BringMinimum of 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration, Human Resources, or Employee Benefits account managementBusiness-related degree preferred or equivalent professional experienceStrong client service and relationship management skillsExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointExperience with BenefitPoint, Employee Navigator, or similar systems preferredAbility to collaborate effectively across teams and departmentsWillingness to obtain and maintain a Michigan Life & Health Insurance LicenseAdditional InformationBenefits -Alera Group offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), generous PTO, and more.Work Model -This role is Hybrid Professional Development – Alera Group AcademyAt Alera Group, growth isn’t left to chance.
