Greenhouse Supervisor

Supports Oglebay’s aquaponic and food production program by assisting the greenhouse manager with the day-to-day operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Seeds, transplants, and harvests produce in the greenhouse Assists in maintaining hydroponic growing systems Plant, water, weed, and maintain the terrace garden Performs equipment checks and plant health checks Trains and supervises staff and volunteers, and checks work for completeness Cleans equipment as necessary and maintains a clean working environment Performs inventory checks and fills out food safety documentation Conducts workshops for the public and leads tours of the aquaponics operation Food packaging, labeling, and storage Mix fertilizer and regularly test pH and EC Computes payroll if needed Orders greenhouse and growing materials if neededSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 1 employee in the Greenhouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCEAssociate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Driver's LicenseAbility to obtain Registered Tech. Pesticide License WV Cat. 4b
