This role supports enterprise growth, large-scale system migrations, cybersecurity expansion, AI and data platform initiatives (SF Digital), and post-merger integrations.The IT Project Manager partners closely with the CIO, IT leadership, firm business leaders, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with firm strategy. This individual brings structure, visibility, and disciplined execution to a rapidly growing technology portfolio and serves as a key enabler of operational excellence and risk management. COMPENSATION: At Spencer Fane, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to location, skillset, experience, training, licenses, certifications and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. We expect the starting yearly salary for this position to be between $100,000 - $145,000. BENEFITS: Medical, Vision, Dental, PTO, 401k, Life, Disability. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Enterprise Project LeadershipLead cross-functional technology projects from initiation through closure, including cloud migrations, cybersecurity initiatives, enterprise systems implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and M&A integrations.Develop clear project charters, scope documents, work plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers.Establish and maintain project governance frameworks including steering committee reporting and executive updates.Ensure projects align with firm strategy, budget constraints, risk posture, and operational priorities. Mergers & Acquisitions IntegrationPartner with IT, Operations, Finance, and firm leadership to plan and execute technology integration for new office combinations.Coordinate system migrations, identity and access alignment, infrastructure standardization, and application consolidation.Develop repeatable integration playbooks to increase speed, reduce risk, and improve consistency across future combinations. Portfolio & Program ManagementMaintain centralized visibility of all active and planned IT initiatives.Implement portfolio tracking tools and dashboards to provide transparency on progress, risk, resource allocation, and dependencies.Identify capacity constraints and sequencing conflicts; recommend prioritization adjustments to CIO and executive leadership. Risk & Change ManagementIdentify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues.Coordinate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure projects meet security, compliance, and data governance standards.Lead structured change management activities including stakeholder engagement, communications, training coordination, and adoption measurement. Vendor & Budget CoordinationCollaborate with vendors, consultants, and managed service providers to ensure contractual deliverables are met.Track project-related expenditures and assist in capital and operating budget forecasting.Support vendor selection processes, RFP coordination, and due diligence activities as required. Reporting & CommunicationProvide concise, executive-ready reporting to the CIO and firm leadership.Translate technical complexity into clear business impact statements.Facilitate project status meetings, working sessions, and decision forums. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. PMP or comparable project management certification strongly preferred; if not held at hire, certification is expected within one year with organizational support.Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading enterprise technology projects, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment. Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives spanning infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and cross-functional business stakeholders. Experience supporting cloud migrations, security initiatives, enterprise software implementations, or M&A integration strongly preferred.Project Management Methodology & Delivery: Demonstrated experience applying project management methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall) in complex enterprise environments. Proven ability to manage full project lifecycles—from planning and resource alignment through execution, risk mitigation, and delivery—while ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget expectations.Operational & Program Execution: Proven capability to coordinate concurrent initiatives, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver outcomes in fast-paced, high-accountability environments. Skilled in developing scalable project plans, governance structures, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics that improve delivery consistency and organizational visibility.Leadership & Team Supervision: Leads and supervises cross-functional project teams during the duration of assigned projects; no direct org chart reports. Directs the work of technical and business resources, monitors performance against milestones, and drives accountability for deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.Judgment, Initiative & Problem-Solving: Applies advanced analytical thinking and sound judgment to anticipate project risks, resolve delivery challenges, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Identifies process gaps, recommends improvements, and drives continuous enhancement of project management practices and operational efficiency.Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicates clearly and confidently with executives, partners, technical teams, and business stakeholders. Provides structured status reporting, facilitates decision-making, and ensures alignment across leadership and delivery teams to support successful project outcomes.Organization, Professionalism & Execution Mindset: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and discretion when managing sensitive organizational initiatives, ensuring reliable delivery and sustained stakeholder trust. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position is generally sedentary in nature, movement throughout the area is required from time to time. This is a noisy and busy environment without much privacy. Continuous communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential. Repetitive movements, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds, reaching, lifting, stooping and the ability to read a computer screen, detect color coding and read fine print will be expected.
