This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of innovative fitness solutions that reach a global audience. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating requirements into functional software, ensuring high quality standards, and supporting the onboarding of new team members. Leading by example, the Software Engineer will leverage their technical expertise to improve product features, optimize development processes, and troubleshoot engineering challenges proactively. Collaboration with international teams and adherence to best practices in software development are key aspects of this role.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields, with a bachelor’s degree or higher. They should have between 3 to 5 years of experience developing native Android applications using Java or Kotlin, complemented by at least 5 years of object-oriented programming experience in languages such as C++, C#, or Java. Proven expertise in UI-based application development for at least 4 years is required, along with a minimum of 2 years dedicated to built-in and integration unit testing. Experience in writing and editing technical documentation for 3 years or more, along with project sustainment or inheritance experience, is essential. Candidates should also have a background in project architecture and demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams, are crucial for success in this role.ResponsibilitiesThe Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging work environment. Responsibilities include actively participating in sprint ceremonies, providing valuable input to empower the software development team, and contributing to continuous improvement of all Johnson Development Processes. The candidate will advocate for best practices in software quality, including thorough documentation and rigorous testing. Leading individual development projects as needed, the engineer will ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and proactively identifying and resolving engineering challenges are integral to this position.
