This is an ideal role for a chemist who enjoys precision, ownership, and seeing their work move from lab to customer.You’ll contribute to high-quality peptide production while building deep technical expertise alongside experienced chemists, all while upholding PolyPeptide’s commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.What You’ll DoExecute peptide synthesis, purification, and drying operations in accordance with SOPs and Batch Production Records (BPRs)Set up and verify reactor systems for proper operationMeasure, mix, and prepare chemical ingredients with accuracy and careMonitor reaction progress and respond appropriately to ensure complete processingPerform intermediate chemical processing steps under established safety and process guidelinesPrepare solutions for purification and purify crude peptides using HPLCConduct lyophilization and drying processes per validated proceduresPerform in-process analytical HPLC checks and communicate results to senior chemistsMake basic go/no-go processing decisions based on established criteriaIdentify, report, and assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issuesMaintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and GMP complianceSupport additional tasks as needed to meet production goalsWhat You BringEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering2+ years of professional experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology laboratoryTechnical SkillsHands-on experience with HPLC systemsWorking knowledge of cGMP environments and documentationProfessional SkillsStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervisionFlexibility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, priority-shifting environmentExceptional technical writing skills with strong attention to detailExcellent organization, communication, and multitasking abilitiesCore CompetenciesChemical process execution and monitoringPeptide purification and analytical techniquesGMP compliance and documentation accuracyAttention to detail and quality mindsetTeam collaboration and adaptabilityWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork may occur in office, laboratory, or GMP manufacturing environmentsGowning and PPE required for lab and production settingsPhysical demands may include standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, repetitive lab tasks, and equipment operationExposure to chemicals, equipment noise, and temperature-controlled environmentsOccasional evening, weekend, or overtime hours may be requiredReasonable accommodations provided as neededAbout PolyPeptidePolyPeptide is a global leader in peptide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients, partnering with innovators worldwide to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
