Custodial - Evening

The Macon R-1 School District is looking to fill an evening custodial position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and beyond at our MACTEC building.The evening custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Career Center. This position ensures classrooms, labs, offices and common areas are cleaned and prepared for the next day's activities.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areasSweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as neededEmpty trash and recycling containersClean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrorsRestock restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, toilet paper)Maintain cleanliness of specialized lab spaces (shop areas, technical labs, etc.)Secure building by locking doors and checking alarmsReport maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisorAssist with event setup and cleanup when neededAny other duties requested by supervisorSkills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detailGood time management and reliabilityAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periodsDependable and trustworthy Working ConditionsEvening hours in a school/career center environmentExposure to cleaning chemicals and equipmentOccasional lifting, climbing, and repetitive motion Benefits Health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement planPaid time offSchool district holidays
