HR Generalist
Job SummaryThe purpose of this role is to manage the daily HR functions at the plant level, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, payroll, benefits, FMLA, performance management, and enforcement of company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist is responsible for staffing each plant location while implementing employee relations strategies aimed at increasing employee engagement and retention, ensuring proper confidential record-keeping of HR documentation, and payroll processing. Experience with ADP is highly beneficial.ResponsibilitiesRecruitment:Engage and embrace activity-driven recruitment scorecard goals.Continuously build a pipeline of active and passive candidates.Proactively recruit from various sources, including job boards, career fairs, and referrals.Utilize social media for recruitment and community engagement.Build relationships in the community to establish the company as the employer of choice.Lead the selection process, interviewing, and selecting the right candidate for the job.Employee Relations:Act as a true business partner to the local leadership team and advise on HR issues or escalate them to the Regional HR Manager.Understand fundamental HR principles and core services, including benefits, HR policies, LOAs, compensation, safety, and workers' compensation.Build relationships through trust and credibility while becoming an employee advocate.Communicate the company vision and programs with conviction and positive energy.Promote company culture.Manage safety programs, including Hep B requirements at the local level.Implement employee retention strategies and tactics resulting in a reduction of turnover rate.Payroll/HRIS:Serve as a system expert with the ability to document and process employee records.Understand and consistently follow SOPs while providing input for improvements (hiring, onboarding, creating payroll folders, terminating, etc.).Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.Utilize analytics to provide recommendations to management.Ensure compliance with local, county, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication and people skills.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of local and federal employment-related laws and regulations.Proficiency in computer skills, including MS applications and HRIS platforms.LocationThis position is based in Shelbyville, KY, a charming city known for its rich history and vibrant community.
