Studio City Children's Class Instructor (parent and child classes)

Do you love to Play? Play 2 Progress is looking for enthusiastic teachers experienced in working with children 1-5 years old. This is a great opportunity if you are an ECE teacher, art teacher, youth sports coach, or a student interested in pediatric OT. Shifts: Wednesday & Friday 8:30am -12:30pm Play 2 Progress is a pediatric play-based occupational therapy clinic that works with children with sensory processing needs. In addition to individual and group occupational therapy we offer sensory based early education classes for the general public. Weekday mornings we host a schedule of classes at our West Hollywood locations. Candidates should be passionate about creating an inclusive space where children of all abilities can thrive and have fun together. Previous experience working with ECE or neurodivergent students is a big plus. We are looking for an outgoing and engaging teacher to lead our classes including messy play, messy art, imagination and play, and movement classes (takes place in our sensory gym). Your daily duties will include: reviewing curriculum, setting up class activities, leading adult and child classes, cleaning up after activities (be warned we love to get messy), meeting with fellow teachers to make improvements to classes, materials inventory, lesson plan preparation, contributing to curriculum discussions, occasionally participating in marketing events and ensuring classes are being run safely. Qualifications Must have experience working with Adult/Child classes or children aged 1-5 years old either in an education, recreational or sports setting. Knowledge of child development principles Familiarity with classroom management techniques Must be willing to be silly and have fun Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be comfortable with messy play and physical movement classes involving, kneeling, lifting, floor time and general exercise movements. Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans Experience working in High Scope or Sensory Education preferred.
