Construction Permit Coordinator

About Us: We are a growing national general contractor specializing in commercial construction projects across the United States. As our project volume continues to grow, we're expanding our permitting team to help support our operations and provide exceptional service to our customers. In addition to managing construction permitting, we've recently launched a new service that assists our construction clients with establishing utility services for their new commercial locations. This role will be an important part of that initiative and will work closely with project managers, municipalities, utility providers, and our customers to keep projects moving. Position Summary: We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Construction Permit Coordinator to join our team at our headquarters in Bradenton, Florida. The ideal candidate has experience navigating commercial construction permitting processes and enjoys managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This position will support permitting efforts for commercial construction projects nationwide while also assisting with utility service applications and coordination for new construction projects. Responsibilities: Prepare, submit, and track commercial construction permit applications. Coordinate with municipalities, counties, and state agencies throughout the permitting process. Review permit requirements and identify missing documentation before submission. Communicate with project managers regarding permit status, requirements, and timelines. Maintain accurate permit logs and project records. Coordinate inspections, revisions, and permit closeout activities as needed. Submit and track utility service applications, including electric, water, sewer, gas, and telecommunications where applicable. Communicate with utility providers to resolve application issues and schedule service activations. Build relationships with permitting authorities and utility providers across multiple jurisdictions. Identify opportunities to improve permitting and utility coordination processes. Assist with other administrative and project support duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred: 2+ years of commercial construction permitting experience. Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, architect, engineering firm, or permitting service. Familiarity with commercial building permit processes across multiple jurisdictions. Experience coordinating utility service applications is a plus. Required Skills Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage numerous active projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Ability to quickly learn new software systems. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
