Lead Software Engineer – C# /.NETYourCode Recruitment is working with an innovative, technology-led organisation that is transforming the way homes are designed, manufactured and constructed.We're looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to take technical ownership of software platforms that connect engineering, manufacturing and factory operations.This is not a traditional Software Engineering Manager position.You'll remain highly hands-on while taking responsibility for software architecture, technical direction and delivery. You'll build APIs, integrations, data infrastructure and internal applications that allow engineering and manufacturing information to move seamlessly from design through to production.For a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex real-world problems and wants their software to have a tangible impact on physical products and manufacturing operations, this is a particularly interesting opportunity.What You'll Be DoingYou'll lead the development and evolution of software supporting engineering and manufacturing workflows, including:Designing scalable software architecture and technical solutionsRemaining hands-on with software development using a Microsoft/C#/.NET technology stackBuilding APIs, integration services and internal software platformsDeveloping data infrastructure connecting engineering and manufacturing systemsConnecting BIM, CAD, PLM, MES, ERP and other engineering platformsBuilding tools that improve the flow of data from design through fabrication and factory executionDeveloping internal applications and workflow automationImproving interoperability, data quality and system reliabilityUsing AI-enabled development tools to accelerate prototyping, testing, documentation and deliveryIdentifying opportunities for AI-assisted engineering and manufacturing workflowsSupporting deployment, monitoring, testing, CI/CD and production reliabilityProviding technical direction to external development partnersHelping shape the future internal software engineering function as the team growsYou'll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product, Quality, Construction and Operations teams.What We're Looking ForWe're particularly interested in candidates with:7+ years of software engineering/development experienceStrong C# /.NET development experiencePrevious technical leadership experienceHands-on software architecture experienceAPI and systems integration experienceExperience designing scalable applications and data infrastructureCloud experience, ideally AWSCI/CD, automated testing and modern software engineering practicesStrong understanding of software reliability, monitoring and production supportExperience working with technical and non-technical stakeholdersImportantly, we're looking for someone who still wants to build.This isn't a role for someone looking to move completely away from coding into people management.Particularly Relevant BackgroundsExperience developing software within any of the following would be highly relevant:ManufacturingConstruction Technology / ConTechEngineeringIndustrial AutomationFactory / Production SystemsMESCAD / BIMPLMIndustrialised or Modular ConstructionExperience with Revit, SOLIDWORKS, Ignition MES or similar engineering/manufacturing platforms would be advantageous but isn't essential.Why Join?This is an opportunity to take significant technical ownership at the intersection of software engineering and the physical world.Rather than developing another standalone SaaS product, you'll build systems that directly influence how products are designed, manufactured and ultimately constructed.You'll have the opportunity to influence architecture, technology choices, engineering standards and the future growth of the software team.Salary & BenefitsSalary up to $180,000 USD depending on experience, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate.The wider benefits package includes:Medical, dental and vision insurance401(k) with matching contributionsPaid vacation, sick leave and holidaysLife insuranceShort and long-term disability insurancePre-tax commuter accountSubsidised EV chargingProfessional growth and development opportunitiesLocationHayward, California.If you're a Lead Software Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, Staff Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer looking to combine hands-on C#/.NET development with technical leadership and real-world engineering and manufacturing challenges, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today for a confidential conversation with YourCode Recruitment.
