Floater Legal Assistant

Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP has an opening available for a Floater Litigation Legal Assistant with 3+ years of Labor & Employment experience to join the Los Angeles office. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and on-site, with hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Requirements:Strong litigation background with knowledge of federal and state court filing rules and procedures, including experience with e-filing.Strong calendaring experience, including the ability to calculate, track, and maintain litigation deadlines in accordance with applicable court rules.Experience preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities within pleadings for court filings.Prior experience supporting Labor & Employment matters strongly preferred, including familiarity with Class Action, PAGA, and Wage & Hour matters.Exceptional proofreading and writing skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.Strong administrative, organizational, and follow-up skills, with the ability to work proactively and take initiative.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.Collaborative and dependable team player who works well with attorneys and staff across departments.Ability to provide overflow support to the Labor & Employment Department and assist attorneys and Legal Assistants firmwide, as needed.Technical Skills:Excellent typing, formatting, and overall computer proficiency required.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.Experience working within iManage or a comparable document management system.Familiarity with CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and CCC Macros is preferred.Benefits/Compensation:We offer a collaborative and professional work environment with a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
