Application Delivery Director

Position: Application Delivery DirectorLocation: 3 days hybrid onsite in Lake Forest, ILDuration: Contract initially through end of year, potential for contract-to-hireOverview:We are seeking a highly technical and assertive Application Delivery Director to lead and deliver large-scale, complex initiatives within a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing multiple high-impact projects, ensuring successful execution from inception through delivery.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale projects (typically $1M–$2M in scope), ensuring timelines, quality, and business objectives are met Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent initiatives, acting as the central point of leadership and accountability Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive execution Oversee the design and implementation of new digital portals (broker, employer, and employee) Support ongoing platform management and system integrations Lead and manage external contractors and vendor teams (experience with Cognizant or similar partners preferred) Provide strong leadership, navigating complex environments and ensuring alignment across teams (“herding cats” effectively) Current Project Environment:CRM transformation, including migration from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics Implementation and management of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for CMS and portal development Integration across platforms including Dynamics, CMS, and other enterprise systems Utilization of Azure Power Platform (Dataverse) for CRM-related functions Exposure to AI initiatives (AI experience is a plus)Technical Qualifications:Strong technical background with hands-on experience in large-scale delivery environments Familiarity with: Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Azure Power Platform (Dataverse) Azure DevOps Modern development frameworks such as React, .NET, and/or Java Ability to engage deeply with technical teams and guide architectural and delivery decisions Preferred Qualifications:Experience in insurance or related industries (not required) Exposure to AI or emerging technology initiatives Candidate Profile:Highly assertive, proactive, and capable of driving outcomes Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence across teams Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale technical projects Not a traditional project manager—must bring strong technical depth and leadership capability
