Daycare Cook

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Cook to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for children in our daycare facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, food safety, and creating a positive mealtime environment. This role requires attention to dietary needs and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. The Daycare Cook will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our young learners through quality meal service. Duties Prepare and cook meals that meet nutritional guidelines suitable for children in a daycare setting Plan weekly menus in accordance with dietary requirements and age-specific needs Ensure all food handling, storage, and preparation adhere to food safety standards Serve meals in a timely manner, ensuring proper portioning and presentation Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and proper disposal of waste Follow all health regulations and safety protocols related to food service in a childcare environment Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary restrictions or allergies Document meal times, food intake, and any incidents related to food service as required Qualifications Experience with meal preparation for children Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff members Certification in food safety or sanitation is a plus This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's health through nutritious meal preparation while working in a supportive childcare environment.
