The substitute is responsible for always ensuring student safety by actively supervising scholars while maintaining a positive environment. Move about the classroom and school building to support students, access materials, and perform instructional duties. Move, transport, position, or place instructional materials, classroom supplies, or student belongings weighing up to 25 pounds; occasional movement of up to 40 pounds may be required. Position self by bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or reaching to support students in classroom and small‑group settings. Provide physical support to students as required by IEPs and safety protocols, including assisting with mobility, positioning, and classroom transitions. Operate computers, tablets, projectors, and other instructional or office technology with sufficient manual dexterity. Observe, identify, recognize, and assess student behavior, written information, and instructional materials, and communicate effectively in person and electronically. Respond promptly during emergencies and supervise or move with students in both indoor and outdoor school environments.
