Position Type: Secondary Teaching 6 - 12/Foreign Language - Spanish Date Posted: 2/2/2026 Location: Academy of Science and Innovation The CREC Academy of Science and Innovation 6-12 (ASI) seeks a highly committed and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join a team of educators who fully believe that every student can and must learn at high levels. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Curriculum and instructionDevelop and execute daily lesson plans to ensure student mastery of specific, measurable and ambitious objectivesPlan a program of study that complements and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the studentsCreate and execute long-term plans in conjunction with other school faculty to ensure mastery of grade-level standardsWork with students below, at, and above grade level to ensure that all students are learning and achieving at the highest level possibleEnsure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom Data, reflection, and continued learningAdminister school-wide interim assessments in order to track student achievementCollaborate with school leaders and grade level team to use data to drive instructional practices to constantly improve student achievement and instructionHold oneself accountable for the achievement and growth of all studentsSeek to constantly develop and improve teaching practices through ongoing feedback conversations with school leaders and other school faculty School culture and professionalismCreate and foster a positive learning environment and exhibit positive rapport with studentsHold high expectations for all studentsImplement the school-wide behavior management system consistently with all studentsWork as part of a team to ensure that the school represents the mission, vision and values of CREC Qualifications and key attributes:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityConnecticut Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment (Spanish-023)Two years or more of teaching experience is preferredDemonstrated significant student achievement results preferredBelief that all students can learn at a high levelCommitment to the vision, mission, values and goals of CREC SchoolsHigh-level written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of state standards, common core and effective pedagogyExperience using inquiry-based learning and constructivist methods, including the workshop model for reading and writing.Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleaguesAbility to use data to inform instructionWillingness to be an active member of a professional learning community focused on action research within the school and the classroomPrior experience working with diverse populations in a middle school/high school setting preferred To access the job description and salary range document, please click https://www.crec.org/careers/jobs.php
