Capture Manager - Federal
MKS2 is seeking an early- to mid-career Capture Manager to join our headquarters staff to lead and execute capture efforts supporting Federal Government consulting opportunities. This role is ideal for a collaborative, agile professional who thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment and enjoys working alongside a highly experienced team.
The Capture Manager will help shape and execute winning strategies from early opportunity identification through proposal submission and award.
Location: Fully Remote (must reside in the National Capital Region)
Salary Range: $135,000–$165,000 - full benefits included
While this position is fully remote, candidates must be based in the National Capital Region (NCR) and available to attend frequent in-person meetings, industry events, and customer engagements during standard business hours, with occasional early or late participation to align with customer or partner schedules.
Responsibilities
Lead capture execution for assigned opportunities from qualification through award
Build and support relationships with government customers, industry partners, and internal leadership
Track customer priorities, budgets, acquisition strategies, and procurement timelines
Attend NCR-based industry days, forums, conferences, and partner events to gather market intelligence
Develop and maintain capture artifacts, including capture plans, competitive analysis, customer intelligence, and gate review materials
Partner with growth leadership to define win strategies, discriminators, and positioning aligned to customer mission outcomes
Support opportunity shaping by identifying customer pain points, refining solution concepts, and recommending competitive strategies
Translate customer insights into actionable capture plans with clear milestones and decision points
Develop and execute teaming strategies to increase probability of win (PWin) as both a prime and subcontractor
Qualifications
3–8 years of experience in capture management, proposal development, or related business development roles
Proven ability to work effectively in a lean, high-performing team environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready documentation
Familiarity with the Federal acquisition lifecycle (RFIs, RFPs, IDIQs, task orders, GSA schedules)
Experience supporting capture efforts within one or more Federal agencies (DoD, Civilian, Intelligence Community, DHS, VA)
Working knowledge of pricing fundamentals and competitive positioning
Experience developing and executing teaming strategies to improve PWin
Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or Dynamics), Federal market research platforms (GovWin, SAM.gov, GSA eBuy), and Microsoft collaboration tools (Teams, Copilot)
