Join us in using data, bold thinking, and a commitment to innovation to help clear the way for millions of Americans to achieve more.About The RoleAs a Sr Software Engineer on the Auto Refinance team, you will design, build, and enhance systems that power auto refinance originations, underwriting, borrower experiences, and operational workflows.You’ll work across backend services and modern web applications to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that improve customer outcomes and business performance in a regulated financial environment.What You'll DoDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, high-availability microservices and UI components supporting the auto refinance journeyPartner with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutionsDeliver end-to-end features across Javascript, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, distributed systems, AWS services, and modern web frameworks such as React and Next.jsDebug complex backend and frontend interactions, identify root causes, and implement durable fixesImprove code quality through refactoring, performance optimization, and maintainability enhancementsParticipate in code reviews and technical design discussions across teamsDrive thoughtful technical decisions by evaluating tradeoffs and proposing scalable design optionsEnsure strong automated test coverage, reliability, observability, and performance across services and user-facing applicationsContribute to engineering standards and mentor team members through collaboration and knowledge sharingAbout You6+ years of fullstack software engineering experienceStrong experience with Javascript, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful API designHands-on experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, or similar frameworksSolid database experience (SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar)Experience working in Agile environments with automated testing and source control best practicesUnderstanding of distributed systems and backend/frontend integration patternsKnowledge of application and UI security best practicesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical tradeoffsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent work experienceNice to HaveExperience in regulated or security-focused environmentsExperience in financial services, lending, or fintechFamiliarity with AWS cloud servicesExperience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering workflowsWork Location San FranciscoThe above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. LendingClub offers relocation, based on actual job level.Time Zone RequirementsPrimarily PTWhile the position will primarily work local hours, LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.Travel RequirementsAs needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations, as needed.CompensationThe target base salary range for this position is 176,000-207,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClub’s Total Rewards package.
