Join Our Team at Creative Modular Construction (CMC)
Creative Modular Construction (CMC) is seeking a highly experienced Master Plumber to serve as the company’s highest plumbing authority. This role is responsible for plumbing code compliance, technical training, process standardization, and quality leadership across modular commercial construction projects. The Master Plumber plays a critical role in building a scalable, high-performing plumbing department capable of supporting complex modular buildings at production scale.
This position functions as a subject matter expert and quality leader. While this role does not have authority to change MEP Engineer designs, it is expected to actively review, question, and challenge plumbing designs in the best interest of CMC’s constructability, quality standards, and long-term performance.
What You’ll Do
Plumbing Code & Technical Oversight
Serve as the senior technical authority for all plumbing systems within modular buildings
Ensure strict compliance with IPC/UPC, state, and local jurisdiction requirements
Review and approve plumbing layouts, riser diagrams, fixture schedules, pipe sizing, venting, and water/sewer routing
Identify design or documentation deficiencies and coordinate corrections with Project Managers, Architects, and MEP Engineers
Training & Skills Development
Train plumbers, helpers, and leads on proper installation practices, testing procedures, and code requirements
Develop and maintain a structured plumbing training program covering safety, layout accuracy, pressure testing, venting, drainage, and best practices
Coach teams on specialty plumbing skills to reduce variability across buildings and production sites
Mentor developing plumbers to support long-term departmental growth
Provide plumbing constructability training and feedback to in-house engineering staff
Inventory & Material Support
Partner with Purchasing and leadership to validate material ordering levels, safety stock, and supplier quality
Support root-cause investigations related to missing, incorrect, or damaged plumbing components
Ensure plumbing systems integrate cleanly with walls, floors, ceilings, and modular connections to minimize field modifications and rework
Quality Control & Inspection Leadership
Define plumbing inspection criteria for internal QC teams and external inspectors
Collaborate with Quality to reduce plumbing-related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and rework costs
Establish standardized plumbing test procedures, including pressure testing, leak verification, venting, and fixture functionality
Drive early issue identification through proactive design review and shop-floor engagement
Process Standardization & Documentation
Develop plumbing SOPs, installation guides, and quality standards across all building models
Partner with drafting teams to ensure correct pipe sizes, slopes, clearances, penetrations, and labeling
Enforce formal review processes to prevent undocumented plumbing changes or field fixes
Maintain documentation that supports consistent plumbing installations across multiple production sites
Cross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Site Leadership, and Operations
Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers on fixture packages, piping systems, and hardware improvements
Support production scale-up by improving plumbing workflows, inspection readiness, and installation repeatability
What We’re Looking For
Licensed Master Plumber with extensive commercial and/or industrial plumbing experience
Deep working knowledge of IPC/UPC and plumbing inspection requirements
Proven ability to train, mentor, and technically lead plumbing teams
Strong understanding of plumbing design review, constructability, and modular production environments
High attention to detail, documentation discipline, and quality standards
Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
What We Offer
Competitive compensation based on experience
Full benefits after 90 days, including:

Accident insurance
Short-term disability insurance
401(k) retirement plan with company match
