Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.ResponsibilitiesThis individual will process human whole blood samples on a daily basis using the protocols already set up in the lab and keep the paperwork associated with it up to date. Initially, the candidate will conduct assigned experiments, working with daily supervision. The individual is expected to develop more independence over time in performing the experiments. It is very necessary to strictly adhere to the protocols to avoid manual errors in sample processing.Essential FunctionsCollect blood samples, isolate Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) via density gradient centrifugation using Ficoll reagent, cryopreserve PBMCs.Maintain lab safety and cleanliness. Performs routine maintenance on equipment.Fix blood samples using 4% Paraformaldehyde and process for cell staining using intracellular as well as cell surface markers of inflammation. Acquire the stained samples using flow cytometry.Maintain the sample processing and storage log and analyze the flow cytometry data.Run enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) for various plasma proteinsTransfer samples to the central storage facility and attend monthly project related meetings.
