Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal
Downs & Stanford, P.C. has an immediate opening for an experienced insurance defense litigation paralegal in our Dallas office. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience managing multiple cases in all aspects from intake through trial. Candidates will be expected to immediately begin working with a variety of cases of all levels of complexity in a fast-paced, high demand environment. Salary is commensurate with experience.Essential Functions (Varies with each position)Manage large caseload with multiple attorneys and team membersMaintain calendars and docket / maintain and follow-up on deadlinesDraft pleadings, discovery responses, and prepare document production with minimal supervisionReview, analyze, and summarize large volumes of medical records and other evidenceCommunicate with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, courts, expertsSchedule depositions, hearings, and mediationsE-file through eFileTexas and PACERMeet or exceed monthly billable hour requirement of at least 120 hoursQualifications:Demonstrates a high degree of commitment, honesty, and integrity in all aspectsMinimum of 3-5 years of insurance defense litigation experienceParalegal certificate and/or college experience preferred (Paralegal positions only)Able to work with a team in a collaborative environment or independentlyCritical thinking that displays initiative and adaptabilitySelf-motivated, organized, detail oriented, efficient, hard-workingStrong communication skills, professional, prompt, excellent attendanceProficient with Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointExperienced with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Team, and WebExKnowledgeable of Microsoft Edge, PDF compatible software, and related productivity applicationsExperienced with LexisNexis, Coyote Analytics or similar billing and calendaring software a plus
