Job Description Account Manager – Commercial Landscape & SnowSt. Paul, MN | Full-Time | Exempt | Base Salary + CommissionAre you an experienced landscape and snow professional who understands how to retain commercial accounts, manage seasonal contracts, and grow revenue within an existing book of business?We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Account Manager with direct experience in commercial landscape maintenance and snow & ice management. This role is responsible for retaining and expanding an assigned portfolio of commercial properties through proactive service management, enhancement sales, and strategic account growth.This is not an entry-level sales role. Success in this position requires a working knowledge of:Commercial grounds maintenance contractsSnow & ice management agreements (seasonal, per-push, T&M)Irrigation systems and water managementLandscape enhancements and capital improvementsPlant health care programsRisk mitigation and documentation in winter servicesThis position reports to the Director of Sales and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. What You'll DoManage & Retain Commercial Landscape & Snow AccountsServe as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of commercial propertiesLead annual contract renewals for landscape maintenance and snow & ice agreementsMaintain a 90%+ renewal rate across assigned accountsConduct routine site inspections during growing season and winter eventsIdentify service deficiencies and coordinate corrective action with Operations Sell Enhancements & Drive Account GrowthIdentify and scope landscape enhancement opportunities (plant replacements, seasonal color, drainage, hardscape improvements, irrigation upgrades, etc.)Close enhancement, irrigation, Urban Land Care, and Plant Health Care projectsMaintain a 50%+ close rate on add-on servicesDevelop seasonal improvement plans aligned with client budgetsBuild a 12-month opportunity pipeline within CRM Oversee Snow & Ice Service PerformanceUnderstand contractual snow triggers, response times, and site mapsProactively communicate before, during, and after winter eventsAssist in resolving service disputes with documentation and site knowledgeIdentify liability risks and partner with Operations to mitigate exposureSupport seasonal contract renewals and pricing adjustments Partner Cross-FunctionallyCollaborate with Operations Managers and Production teams to ensure service execution aligns with contract scopeParticipate in pre-season planning meetings (spring mobilization & winter readiness)Support collections by ensuring billing accuracy and addressing scope changes Required Industry KnowledgeCandidates must have working knowledge in at least one of the following areas, with strong preference for multiple:Commercial landscape maintenance standardsPlant identification (trees, shrubs, perennials common to Upper Midwest)Irrigation systems and troubleshooting basicsSnow & ice management operations and contract structuresEnhancement estimating or field production experienceCommercial property management expectationsExperience reading site maps, understanding scope-of-work documents, and identifying service gaps is essential. Who You AreYou are not just a salesperson — you are a trusted advisor who understands the seasonal nature of the landscape and snow industry.You are:Comfortable walking properties and identifying horticultural and service issuesConfident discussing snow triggers, de-icing materials, and response expectationsSkilled at translating field conditions into revenue opportunitiesOrganized and disciplined with CRM tracking and documentationCompetitive, goal-oriented, and driven by measurable performanceComfortable working independently within a territory-based roleProfessional in communication with property managers and facility directors Education & Experience3+ years of experience in commercial landscape, snow & ice management, or related green industry role (required)Experience in account management or enhancement sales strongly preferred2-year degree in Horticulture, Turf, Landscape Management, or related field preferredIndustry certifications a plus (MNLA, NALP, SIMA, CLT, etc.)Proficiency in CRM and basic financial reporting Why This Role MattersThis role directly impacts company growth and long-term client retention.
