Personal Support Specialist (Direct Support) Day Program

Social Vocational Services (SVS) has been serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout California since 1977. SVS is seeking caring, reliable, dedicated and outgoing individual to provide one-on-one individualized support as a Personal Support Specialist at our Watsonville program. $750 hiring bonus after 60th day of full attendance (must work full shift to be counted towards the 60 days). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide one-to-one training or adaptive services to a specific client enrolled in the Day Program (including, but not limited to: paid work, social skills building, art, recreation, volunteering) Develop and monitor individual client plans within the Program. Assist with personal hygiene needs as needed. Assess, evaluate, implement and chart client's progress on goals and objectives MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma, GED or equivalent Must obtain DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance Must pass post-job offer job-related physical exam including TB test First Aid/CPR certification (SVS will provide) Effective written and verbal communication Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 27.5 per week Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Work Location: In person
