SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer I - Power Delivery Group that will provide electrical technical support throughout the entire construction project.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical lead and support for electrical portions of work projectDetermine best layout of collection system; including consideration of constraints such as overhead/underground, follow roads/cross country, and junction box locationsReview manufacturer's data to determine extent of scope for electrical portion of project, including wiring requirements and electrical characteristics (i.e. grounding requirements, power factor ranges, lightning protection requirements, generator outputs, etc.)Verify that construction agrees with electrical engineering design drawings, including preparatory meetings, and QA/QCManage and lead the electrical engineering design and equipment procurement through use of submittals, transmittals, and requests for informationProvide technical expertise to all parties concernedEnsure subcontractors understand the scope of project during bidding process and provide electrical engineering resource throughout the projectCommunicate with local utilities to ensure the project can interconnect to the electrical gridPerform loss calculations (100% output/annualized)Develop one-line diagrams of collection a system and substations, as well as standard details of electrical construction that are typical to Mortenson projectsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringPrevious related internship experience a plusWorking knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code preferredBasic understanding of construction techniques and project management practicesCurrent driver's licenseStrong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsDetail-oriented to manage multiple project tasksBasic understanding of construction law and business practicesIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project, and web applicationsPositive, professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesActive listening skills and effective communicationAbility to travel up to 100%A few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $80,900 MIN - $109,300 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
