The tutor will be responsible for following the schedule as designated by the supervising teacher. The tutor instructs using a variety of instructional methods. The supervising teacher or resource specialist will assist the tutor in the planning of lessons. The tutor may be responsible for maintaining program documentation for the assigned building.NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.QUALIFICATIONS:AA degree, required; BA preferred.Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationshipsAbility to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and patronsMust follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessaryDemonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance recordMust work within designated bounds of authority and confidentialityAbility to follow safe work practices and proceduresAbility to work independently with initiativeAble to work flexible hoursPrior job-related experience preferred but not required.Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), preferred.Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.Record keeping and computer skills, preferred.First Aid Card, or ability to obtain.Letters and applications received after closing date will only be accepted and screened if the position remains unfilled
