Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric Leading Data Consultancy Boston Preferred - Remote Considered6 month contract $60ph The RoleA well-established data consultancy are recruiting a contractor for a mid-level Data Engineer for a Microsoft Fabric implementation. You'll be part of a delivery team working across a technically varied programme with good potential to grow over time.The ProjectThe client is migrating to Microsoft Fabric across three areas — platform architecture, early-stage POCs, and cost & governance reporting. Their current environment includes MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Oracle, plus a move from Tableau to Power BI.What You'll Be DoingBuilding pipelines, lakehouses, and data warehouse objects within FabricMigrating and integrating data from multiple source systemsContributing to POC delivery and Tableau-to-Power BI reporting migrationSupporting governance and cost reporting outputsWriting documentation and working alongside senior engineers and client stakeholdersEssential Skills Hands on Microsoft Fabric experienceStrong SQL skills across any of MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, or OraclePython or Spark for data transformationFamiliarity with lakehouse architecture and pipeline developmentSome Power BI experience, ideally within FabricDesirableMicrosoft certification (DP-600, DP-700, or Azure Data Engineer Associate)Azure ecosystem exposure — Purview, ADLS Gen2, SynapseConsultancy or client-facing backgroundTableau familiarity and/or DevOps awarenessLocationRemote considered, though there's a strong preference for someone Boston based who can be onsite when needed.StatusOnly US Citizens or Green Card holders eligable Next StepsInterviews are live now — send your profile across and we'll be in touch.
