Employment will be home based with deployments to WHH areas of operation.As Expert Emergency Response responsible for Finance, you will support and strengthen Welthungerhilfe’s humanitarian operations through the development, coordination, and implementation of emergency response interventions in fragile and crisis-affected contexts. You will contribute to high-quality humanitarian programming across the full project cycle, with a particular focus on administration and finance, while ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards.In this role, you will work closely with head office, country teams, partners, and other relevant stakeholders to support timely and effective humanitarian responses worldwide.This position is part of WHH’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), a globally deployable pool of humanitarian experts supporting emergency operations during sudden-onset crises and increased humanitarian needs worldwide.The position is home-based and part-time (60%), with a significant amount of time spent on international deployments to support emergency response operations in the field. Your responsibilitiesContribute to the strategic development of WHH’s emergency response portfolioManage and monitor project budgets, financial planning, and administrative processes in compliance with donor and organizational requirementsSupport country teams and partner organizations in finance, administration, compliance, and emergency response-related mattersConduct financial monitoring, reviews, and risk assessments to ensure accountability and proper use of fundsSupport the development of donor proposals, reports, and funding opportunities in line with institutional donor requirements with focus on financeRepresent WHH in relevant coordination forums, networks, and stakeholder meetings where requiredDesign and facilitate trainings, workshops, and capacity-sharing activities related to emergency response, administration, and financeCollaborate closely with head office, country offices, and international partners in multicultural and challenging environmentsMaintain readiness for rapid emergency deployments within 48 hours and support field operations globally for up to 3 months when required Your profileUniversity degree in humanitarian assistance, international development, business administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in humanitarian emergency response, preferably in fragile or conflict-affected contexts Proven experience in project cycle management, including budgeting, financial management, and donor compliance Experience working with institutional donors and managing grants in line with donor regulations and reporting requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments Experience supporting or coordinating local partner organizations and working in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams Knowledge of security management, emergency preparedness, and rapid response mechanisms is considered an asset Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to represent the organization in coordination forums and stakeholder meetings High level of flexibility and willingness to deploy globally within short notice, including field assignments of up to 3 months in challenging environments You recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work.
