Aircraft Component Repair Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aircraft Component Repair Technician in Trumbull, CT for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.The Aircraft Component Repair Technician will disassemble, clean, inspect, evaluate, repair, modify, and assemble aircraft components in accordance with approved technical data. This is a safety-sensitive role covered by U.S. DOT and FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.Required SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Equivalent military experience may be considered.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Experience disassembling, cleaning, evaluating, repairing, modifying, and assembling aircraft components.Ability to follow approved technical data, component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, ORIs, OREIs, drawings, check sheets, and related documentation.Experience using precision measuring instruments and gauges such as feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.Ability to repair detail components by filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.Experience using power tools and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.Ability to clearly document evaluation results and communicate repair requirements.Ability to follow EH&S requirements, FAA, CAA, and EASA regulations, company policies, procedures, and corporate initiatives.Competence using torque wrenches.Understanding of SAC torque specification SS9300.Ability to chemically treat repaired surfaces in accordance with approved data.Ability to review and interpret paperwork to verify part identification, operational sequence, and required documentation.Ability to drill, ream, tap, change studs, install Heli-Coils, and install bushings and liners using shrink fitting and arbor press methods.Must participate in FAA-approved drug and alcohol screening program for safety-sensitive work.Preferred SkillsAutomotive trade school.FAA Airframe license.Experience with aircraft component overhaul, MRO, aircraft repair, component maintenance, precision measurement, torque specifications, riveting, drilling, lapping, polishing, chemical treatment, Heli-Coil installation, bushing installation, FAA documentation, and aviation maintenance records.What You'll DoDisassemble, clean, evaluate, repair, modify, and assemble aircraft components.Work from approved data and technical documentation.Use precision measuring tools to inspect and verify component condition.Perform filing, stoning, lapping, polishing, drilling, sanding, riveting, and related repair tasks.Review and interpret paperwork to confirm part identification and operational sequence.Document evaluation results and communicate repair requirements.Chemically treat repaired surfaces according to approved procedures.Perform drilling, reaming, tapping, stud changes, Heli-Coil installation, bushing installation, and liner installation.Follow EH&S, FAA, CAA, EASA, company, and customer requirements.Maintain accurate records of work performed.Pay$23.50/hourJob ID: 21590Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
