Program Manager 2
Overview
As a Program Manager at AMD, you lead high-visibility engineering initiatives from concept to delivery, coordinating with hardware, firmware, software, and validation teams. You partner with stakeholders to ensure program and product objectives align with business strategy, timelines, and quality KPIs. You help scale complex software and hardware programs in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. This role offers impact across HPC, cloud, and AI portfolios and collaboration with senior leadership.
ResponsibilitiesDefine, plan, and drive project/program plans guided by management and senior technical leadsScope and assess technical feasibility by clarifying requirements with software/hardware architects and validation teamsLead end-to-end program execution across hardware, firmware, software, and driver teamsDevelop and manage integrated schedules including drivers, software stack components, validation milestones, and dependenciesBuild and maintain comprehensive program plans with execution focusEstablish and manage artifacts (plans of record, SOWs, schedules, budgets, scope, KPIs)Ensure resource planning across development and validation teamsIdentify risks, define mitigations, and address issues to reduce cost and schedule impactCollaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Validation, and Customer Engineering leadership
Key requirementsHands-on experience with hardware and/or software validation teams, including test planning, execution, and readiness reviewsStrong understanding of requirements management, documentation management, defect tracking, and validation sign-off processesAbility to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate discussions into actionable plansExcellent communication skills across diverse stakeholdersHighly analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and results-drivenStrong interpersonal skills to collaborate across multiple teams and communicate progressExperience in high-pressure environments with competing priorities and tight deadlinesExperience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel is a plusExperience with Agile development environmentsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical EngineeringFormal project management training; PMP is a pluscommunicationcollaborationanalytical thinkingvalidation processesrequirements managementdefect tracking
