Position Title: Telemetry Deployment Engineer – ManufacturingLocation: Lafayette, INClient: Automotive Duration: 3-6 months, can convert to long term based on requirements100% onsite Job DescriptionBusiness UnitModern Manufacturing TransformationRole SummaryThe Telemetry Deployment Engineer is responsible for the site‑level preparation, deployment, integration, and sustainment of Telemetry Fingerprint solutions across manufacturing facilities. This role bridges CNC machining, machine data, and IT to ensure reliable connectivity, high data quality, and operational adoption during deployment and scale‑up.Key Job ResponsibilitiesExecute plant‑level deployment of Telemetry Fingerprint solutions, coordinating activities across Operations, Maintenance, and ITServe as the on‑site technical integrator, translating machine, operations, and IT requirements into deployable telemetry solutionsSupport initiative through practical understanding of machine tools, tooling concepts, and machine‑generated dataValidate and troubleshoot machining data streams to ensure accuracy and reliabilityNavigate Caterpillar IT environments and constraints, including networking fundamentals, Network Architecture Plans, firewall rules, and security requirementsIdentify, escalate, and resolve deployment issues related to connectivity, data integrity, and cross‑functional handoffsSupport rollout standardization and deployment readiness across multiple manufacturing sitesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience supporting manufacturing technology or production deploymentsGeneral CNC machine familiarity, including tooling and machine data conceptsWorking knowledge of machining data and its manufacturing contextBasic networking knowledge with the ability to learn and operate within CAT IT security requirements (LTAs, firewalls, cybersecurity)Proven ability to work across Operations, Maintenance, and IT, translating requirements between groupsPreferred QualificationsExperience deploying or supporting machine connectivity, telemetry, or digital manufacturing solutionsBackground in manufacturing engineering, industrial automation, or operations technology
