Senior Mechanical EngineerBay AreaInsight are partnered with a startup hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will lead the mechanical integration of robotic systems onto heavy mobile platforms. This is a hands-on senior position requiring a balance of high-level systems architecture and boots-on-the-ground engineering. You will be responsible for taking systems from initial prototype through to field deployment in outdoor environments.Responsibilities:Lead programs to connect robotic arms and heavy payloads to mobile platforms, owning structural mounting, load paths, and power/data routing.Design, route, and validate heavy-duty wire harnesses and cable assemblies, ensuring proper strain relief and chafe protection.Run structural analysis and execute validation plans for vibration, shock, and EMI.Drive DFM/DFS and work directly with machine shops / harness houses to release production-ready drawings.Requirements7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, specifically with robotics, autonomous systems, or heavy equipment.Direct experience integrating robotic arms or heavy actuators.Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or Creo, including GD&T and tolerance stack analysis.Strong experience in harness design, connector selection, and field diagnostics.Apply here to learn more!
