POSITION SUMMARY
The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing all agency bill invoices in the Agency Management System. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely billing of insurance policies, processing payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies. The Billing Specialist will work closely with internal teams to maintain smooth billing operations and uphold the agency's financial health.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Generate invoices for insurance premiums and services.
Generate monthly client statements.
Record and process all funding received for finance agreements.
Respond to agencies inquiries about billing issues and provide clear explanations.
Liaise with insurance carriers and internal teams to clarify billing-related issues and updates.
Prepare regular billing and financial reports for management, highlighting key trends, outstanding accounts, and areas for improvement.
Ensure all billing practices comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and reports in the agency’s management system.
Identify opportunities to streamline the billing process and improve efficiency.
Assist with commission statement processing and downloading as needed.
Enter Manual Records as needed.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role, preferably within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of billing processes and financial principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
Experience with agency management systems (EPIC) preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Problem-solving abilities with a focus on resolving billing discrepancies.
