Located just steps from the Alamo, this Historic Hotels of America landmark stands as a true Texas icon.The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations across multiple properties (The Menger Hotel & Crockett) within the assigned region. This role involves overseeing the entire operation of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end process, cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting to ensure alignment with the company’s business strategy.Requested TasksManage and oversee the financial activities of the assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standardsDevelop and produce accurate forecasts to enable property operations to adapt to business changes effectivelyImplement and maintain a robust cash control system, including periodic audits and detailed financial reportingProvide exceptional leadership by assigning clear responsibilities and accountability to team members and department managersFoster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and teamwork across all departmentsLead the preparation of annual operational budgets in collaboration with property leaders, ensuring alignment with company objectivesReview and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performanceOversee the reconciliation of balance sheets, ensuring that all account balances are supported by appropriate documentationEnsure the accuracy of the Profit & Loss (P&L) statements by verifying that costs are properly matched to revenue and recorded in the correct accountsMaintain a thorough understanding of city, county, and state sales tax laws, as well as laws related to property mattersEnsure all financial operations comply with local, state, and federal regulationsReview and assess asset and inventory needs as required, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with financial goalsAssist in the creation and execution of business plans that align with the company’s strategy, focusing on the successful execution of financial and accounting activitiesAttend and actively participate in leadership meetings, contributing financial insights and strategic recommendationsRequested CapabilitiesPrior experience as a Director of Finance in hotels/hospitality is requiredPrior experience working with a luxury hotel property finance team; knowledge of hotel financial statements and reconciliations is requiredPrior experience in private clubs, high-end retail, luxury spas, or residential environments is highly preferred.
