Payroll Analyst

SummaryThe Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role analyzes payroll data, resolves discrepancies, supports audits, and works closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure payroll operations run efficiently. The Payroll Analyst will utilize the Paycom system to manage and process payroll functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Process and review payroll in Paycom for accuracy, including wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefitsAnalyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvementEnsure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policiesMaintain and update employee payroll records within Paycom, including tax withholdings and direct deposit informationReconcile payroll reports and general ledger accountsResearch and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely mannerPrepare and submit payroll tax filings and ensure timely payment of payroll-related liabilitiesSupport internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and reportsCollaborate with HR and Finance teams on employee data changes, benefits, and compensation updatesAssist with Paycom system configurations, implementations, upgrades, and process improvementsGenerate payroll reports from Paycom for management and provide insights based on data analysisSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesQualificationsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)6+ years of payroll processing or payroll analysis experienceStrong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirementsHands-on experience with Paycom or comparable payroll system (required)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPreferred QualificationsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designationExperience with multi-state payroll processingFamiliarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems, preferably PaycomPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
